If your old rope is dirty here are some ideas for cleaning
The key to washing your rope is to use a mild, non-detergent soap such as woolite.
You can wash your rope in the bath tub and elbow grease will get off most surface dirt.
You can also use a front-loading heavy-duty washing machine set on warm. This is a better option for deep cleaning.
A last option we have heard about is to double up and daisy-chain your rope and then put it into a standard, top loading, home machine. However, attempt this at your own risk, as it may destroy your washing machine!
Always drip dry the rope after washing.
If your Rope Rug is dirty
The best deep cleaning for your rope rug is with a high pressure hose at your local self-service car wash.
You can use the car wash high-pressure wand in "Rinse mode." You can use the "Soap mode" but these soaps are hard to rinse out and may leave a white residue when dry.
